2. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS

I understand that participation in activities at The Barnyard Classroom, including birthday parties and agritourism experiences, involves inherent risks.

These risks include, but are not limited to: Interaction with animals (including but not limited to goats, sheep, chickens, and other farm animals)

Animal behavior such as biting, kicking, scratching, jumping, or sudden movements
Uneven terrain, farm equipment, fences, and natural outdoor hazards
Slips, trips, falls, and environmental conditions

Under Ontario law, participants in agritourism activities assume risks that are inherent to those activities, including risks related to animals, land, and equipment.

3. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I voluntarily choose to participate (or allow my child to participate) in these activities and freely accept and fully assume all risks, including the risk of injury, illness, property damage, or death, whether caused by inherent risks or otherwise.

4. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I agree to release, waive, and discharge The Barnyard Classroom, its owners, employees, contractors, partners, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in activities at the facility.

This includes claims arising from negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by Ontario law.

5. INDEMNIFICATION

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Barnyard Classroom from any claims brought by or on behalf of the participant, including legal fees, arising from participation in activities.

6. RULES & SAFETY

I agree to follow all posted rules and staff instructions, including:

Treating animals gently and respectfully
Not entering restricted areas
Supervising children at all times (if applicable)

I understand that failure to follow rules may result in removal from the activity.

7. MEDICAL CONSENT

In the event of an emergency, I authorize The Barnyard Classroom staff to obtain medical assistance for the participant if necessary. I understand that I am responsible for any associated costs.

8. PHOTO & MEDIA RELEASE

I consent to photos/videos being taken and used for marketing purposes.

I do not consent.

9. MINORS

If signing on behalf of a minor, I confirm that I am the parent/legal guardian and have the authority to sign this agreement on their behalf.

10. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I understand that a liability waiver is intended to limit legal claims and is generally enforceable in Ontario when clearly written and properly presented.
