Service Description
🌿 June Homeschool Learning Pod (Grades 1/2) Our June Homeschool Learning Pod embraces the beauty of early summer through hands-on, nature-based learning experiences. As the farm comes alive with growth, pollinators, birds, and garden harvests, students will strengthen foundational literacy, math, and science skills through meaningful outdoor exploration, observation, creativity, and play. Each week is thoughtfully designed to follow the rhythms of the season while nurturing curiosity, connection, and confidence in a warm, small-group environment. 🐝 Week 1: Pollinators & Garden Helpers Students will explore the important role pollinators play in helping plants grow and produce food. Through garden observations, nature walks, and hands-on activities, students will learn about bees, butterflies, ladybugs, and other helpful insects found around the farm. 🪱 Week 2: Composting, Soil & Garden Life Students will investigate what lives beneath the soil and how compost helps gardens grow. Through hands-on exploration of worms, decomposing materials, and healthy soil, students will learn about the cycle of growth in nature and how farms care for the land sustainably. 🍓 Week 3: Strawberries & Early Harvests Students will explore early summer harvests on the farm, focusing on strawberries and seasonal garden growth. Through picking, tasting, sorting, measuring, and creating simple recipes, students will learn where food comes from and how plants change throughout the growing season. 🐦 Week 4: Bird Watching & Identification Students will slow down and observe the world around them through bird watching and identification activities. They will learn how to recognize common local birds by their colours, sounds, nests, and behaviours while practicing observation, patience, and recording their discoveries through nature journaling. 💛 Each day is rooted in connection—to the land, to animals, and to each other—while building foundational academic skills through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences inspired by the season.
